Franklin is the county seat of Williamson County, the 7th largest city in Tennessee, and one of the principal cities of the Nashville metropolitan area and Middle Tennessee.

Franklin developed around the Harpeth River (a tributary of the Cumberland River), and since 1980, has been greatly developed in all major sectors — residential, commercial, and industrial.

Although Franklin has recently grown into a booming city, it is most known for its older buildings and historic neighborhoods.

When visiting, be sure to check out the downtown area, farmers market, The Factory, Leipers Fork, Lotz House Museum, and the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge.
